It is the time to start planning participation in Sevens tournaments in 202o. Juvenia Krakow and the City of Krakow invite you to participate in international competition at a high level. The second edition of Krakow Sevens will take place from September 4-6, and the registration process is already underway!
Teams from seven countries took part in the first edition of Krakow Sevens. In the Olympic rugby boys and girls competed in the U19 category. In 2020, the tournament format is expanded to include the U16 boys category.
– The first edition was very successful – said the president of Juvenia Krakow Leszek Samel. – The matches were held at a good level in both categories, there was a fantastic atmosphere and the weather was good. I hope that this year teams from different parts of Europe and world will fight for the Cup of the Mayor of the City of Krakow again! We are counting on the arrival of teams from South Africa who have expressed interest and are preparing for the September trip to Poland!
– This tournament is also a great test for teams that are planning to start in Dubai Sevens in December – added Łukasz Kościelniak, coach of young Juvenia rugby players. – We and the Danish team are the best examples. Those two teams met in the Krakow Sevens grand final and then played really well at this prestigious tournament in the Emirates.
Registration is already underway and free spaces are filling up.
This year we will have:
– 12 U19 men teams
– 8 U19 women teams
– 8 U16 boys teams.
Due to the number of pre-interested teams, there is a good chance to expand the format of each category.
